Bulgaria Internet Use: Population Coverage and Gender-Specific Rates

The report examines the development of Internet adoption in Bulgaria through population coverage and long-term changes.

Internet use in Bulgaria stood at 82.4% of the population in 2024, up by 2.0 percentage points from the previous available observation. The female Internet-use rate was 81.6% in 2024, compared with 83.3% for males in 2024, producing a 1.6-percentage-point gap in favor of men. Fixed broadband penetration was 37.0 subscriptions per 100 people, while mobile cellular penetration was 118.1 subscriptions per 100 people.

Based on comparable data for 2024, Bulgaria ranked 98th of 213 economies by Internet use.
