The report examines the scale and budgetary priority of government health expenditure in Albania.

Government health expenditure per capita in Albania reached $293 in current US dollars and $726 in current international dollars in 2023. Domestic general government sources financed 49.6% of current health expenditure. Total current health expenditure represented 7.1% of GDP, compared with 3.5% of GDP from domestic government sources. The estimated total value of domestic government health expenditure was $688.2 million.

Based on comparable data for 2023, Albania ranked 68th of 193 economies by health expenditure as a share of total government expenditure.
