Albania Fixed and Mobile Telecommunications: Subscription Levels and Structural Change

The report examines the transition between fixed and mobile telecommunications in Albania.

The telecommunications subscription structure of Albania in 2024 comprised 93.8% mobile cellular subscriptions and 6.2% fixed telephone subscriptions. Mobile penetration exceeded fixed-line penetration by 83.2 subscriptions per 100 people. Mobile subscriptions first exceeded fixed subscriptions in 2001. Fixed broadband penetration was 24.9 subscriptions per 100 people in 2024.

Based on comparable data for 2024, Albania ranked 129th of 213 economies by fixed telephone penetration and 161st of 214 by mobile penetration.
