The report examines the proportions of children, working-age adults and older people in Greenland's population.
The age structure of Greenland in 2024 comprised 20.7% of the population aged 0 to 14, 68.4% aged 15 to 64 and 10.8% aged 65 and above. The aging index was 52.1 people aged 65 and above per 100 people aged 0 to 14, while the potential support ratio was 6.3 working-age people per person aged 65 or above.
The number of people aged 65 and above reached 6,553 in 2025, changing by +31.5% over five years. In the common comparison year 2024, Greenland ranked 92nd of 217 economies by the share of the population aged 65 and above.
