Analyze Yemen, Rep.'s power mix to understand the roles of nuclear energy, renewables and fossil fuels in national generation.
The largest source of electricity generation in Yemen, Rep. was oil, accounting for 88.2% of total output in 2021. The electricity mix also included other renewables at 10.5% and natural gas at 1.3%. Low-carbon sources represented 10.5% of generation, while fossil fuels accounted for 89.5%.
Over the latest five-year period, oil recorded the largest increase in the generation mix, rising by 24.3 percentage points. Natural gas recorded the largest decline, falling by 31.6 percentage points.
