Brunei Darussalam Intellectual Property Activity: Patents, Trademarks and Industrial Designs

This article presents patent, trademark and industrial design applications in Brunei Darussalam.

Intellectual property applications in Brunei Darussalam in 2017 included 107 patent applications, 3,538 trademark applications and 271 industrial design applications. The largest category was trademarks, representing 90.3% of all included applications. Resident applicants accounted for 7.5% of patent filings, 4.9% of trademark filings and 0.4% of industrial design filings. Total included IP applications were equivalent to 8397.5 per 1 million people.
