The report examines the shares of manufactures, food, fuels, ores and metals, and agricultural raw materials in Timor-Leste's merchandise imports.
The merchandise import structure of Timor-Leste in 2023 comprised manufactures (49.6%), food (28.1%), fuels (21.2%), agricultural raw materials (0.8%), ores and metals (0.3%). Manufactures represented 49.6% of imports, compared with a combined 50.4% for food, fuels, ores and metals, and agricultural raw materials. ICT goods accounted for 3.8% of total goods imports in 2023.
In the common comparison year 2023, Timor-Leste ranked 167th of 198 economies by the manufactures share of merchandise imports and 46th of 198 by the fuel share of merchandise imports.
