The report examines the composition of Libya's external trade by separating goods from services.
International trade in Libya comprised $37.11 billion in goods exports, $642.2 million in service exports, $23.23 billion in goods imports and $10.05 billion in service imports in 2023. The service-to-goods export ratio was 1.7%, while the corresponding import ratio was 43.3%. Over five years, goods exports changed by +24.4% and service exports changed by +380.3%. The total balance on goods and services was $4.47 billion.
Based on comparable data for 2023, Libya ranked 65th of 200 economies by goods exports and 148th of 200 by service exports.
