Cameroon Merchandise Import Structure: Manufactures, Food, Fuels and Primary Commodities

The analysis summarizes changes in Cameroon's import composition and identifies the largest broad product categories.

Manufactures accounted for 51.6% of merchandise imports into Cameroon in 2023. Food represented 21.7%, fuels 24.2%, ores and metals 1.5% and agricultural raw materials 1.0%. The largest broad import category was manufactures, with a share of 51.6%.

Over the latest five-year period, fuels recorded the largest increase, changing by +2.5 percentage points, while manufactures recorded the largest decline of 2.3 percentage points.
