People aged 65 and above represented 22.7% of the population of Hong Kong SAR, China in 2024. The population aged 0 to 14 accounted for 10.3%, while those aged 15 to 64 represented 66.8%. The old-age dependency ratio was 35.8 older people per 100 working-age people, compared with a youth dependency ratio of 15.6. The older population share changed by +4.7 percentage points over five years and by +7.9 percentage points over ten years.
