The report examines the proportions of children, working-age adults and older people in Belarus's population.
The age structure of Belarus in 2024 comprised 15.9% of the population aged 0 to 14, 66.0% aged 15 to 64 and 17.7% aged 65 and above. The aging index was 111.2 people aged 65 and above per 100 people aged 0 to 14, while the potential support ratio was 3.7 working-age people per person aged 65 or above.
The number of people aged 65 and above reached 1,661,334 in 2025, changing by +12.6% over five years. In the common comparison year 2024, Belarus ranked 49th of 217 economies by the share of the population aged 65 and above.
