Patent applications in Kazakhstan totaled 900 in 2020. Resident applicants filed 803, while nonresident applicants filed 97. Resident applications represented 89.2% of total filings. Total patent applications changed by -40.1% over five years and by -54.2% over ten years.
In the common comparison year 2020, Kazakhstan ranked 51st of 155 economies by total patent applications.
