The report examines the volume and composition of trademark filings in Belarus by applicant residence.
Resident trademark applications in Belarus reached 4,610 in 2021, compared with 14,934 nonresident applications. The resident-to-nonresident filing ratio was 0.31. Trademark activity was equivalent to 2151.0 applications per 1 million people and 257.29 applications per US$1 billion of GDP. The country registered 7,820 new businesses in 2022, corresponding to 2.50 trademark applications per newly registered business.
Based on comparable data for 2021, Belarus ranked 105th of 155 economies by the resident share of trademark filings.
