Exports of goods and services from Moldova totaled $6.46 billion in 2025, compared with imports of $12.40 billion. The resulting external balance was -$5.94 billion, or -29.2% of GDP.
Trade in goods and services represented 88.7% of GDP in 2024, up by 1.0 percentage points over five years. Based on comparable data for 2024, Moldova ranked 91st of 192 economies by trade as a share of GDP and 171st of 194 by the external balance as a share of GDP.
