This report examines the share and composition of renewable electricity in West Bank and Gaza, including hydro and non-hydro generation.

West Bank and Gaza’s renewable electricity mix was divided between hydropower, which represented 0.0% of total generation, and other renewable sources at 24.5% in 2021. Hydropower accounted for 0.0% of renewable electricity.

Non-hydro renewable electricity production reached 224,280,000 kWh in 2021, changing by +427.7% over five years. Based on comparable 2021 data, West Bank and Gaza recorded the 101st-highest renewable electricity share among 209 economies. The non-hydro renewable share changed by +16.6 percentage points over the latest five-year period.
