Dominican Republic Intellectual Property Activity: Patents, Trademarks and Industrial Designs

This article presents patent, trademark and industrial design applications in Dominican Republic.

Intellectual property applications in Dominican Republic in 2021 included 227 patent applications, 15,776 trademark applications and 21 industrial design applications. The largest category was trademarks, representing 98.5% of all included applications. Resident applicants accounted for 3.1% of patent filings, 62.2% of trademark filings and 19.0% of industrial design filings. Total included IP applications were equivalent to 1390.9 per 1 million people.
