The report examines the transition between fixed and mobile telecommunications in Bermuda.
The telecommunications subscription structure of Bermuda in 2024 comprised 68.9% mobile cellular subscriptions and 31.1% fixed telephone subscriptions. Mobile penetration exceeded fixed-line penetration by 53.1 subscriptions per 100 people. Mobile subscriptions first exceeded fixed subscriptions in 2005. Fixed broadband penetration was 51.3 subscriptions per 100 people in 2024.
Based on comparable data for 2024, Bermuda ranked 17th of 213 economies by fixed telephone penetration and 148th of 214 by mobile penetration.
