Afghanistan Fixed and Mobile Telecommunications: Subscription Levels and Structural Change

This article presents fixed telephone and mobile cellular subscriptions in Afghanistan in total and per 100 people.

Mobile cellular subscriptions in Afghanistan totaled 25,630,751 in 2024, equivalent to 60.1 subscriptions per 100 people. Fixed telephone subscriptions totaled 181,963, or 0.4 per 100 people. The mobile-to-fixed subscription ratio was 136.9. Over five years, mobile penetration changed by +0.8 subscriptions per 100 people, while fixed telephone penetration changed by +26.2.
